The weekend of October 14th was extremely rich in events. On Saturday, the crowds participated in the Malverne HS homecoming parade and/or in the October festival that took place at the Crossroad farm. USED proposed regulations your child, school are facing

The summer has just started. Few parents are thinking about the school at this moment, but bureaucrats do. They are paid for doing so. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was signed into the law last December, replacing the No Child Left Behind (NLCB). Meeting with The New Commissioner of Education, MaryEllen Elia

In spring, Carol Burris, the principal of the year, announced she would retire from the South Side HS, RVC, and that she would allocate more time to advocacy for public education. Diane Ravitch, the NPE president, announced that Mrs. Burris would become the Executive Director of the Network for Public Education Fund (501-c-3).
