In May, schools are administering local assessments that, like the standardized state tests, are used to evaluate the teachers (APPR). In June, between the 1st and 10th, selected schools are assigned to administer “field tests.” I described the nature of field tests in two posts (here and here). Malverne HS Selected for Field Tests

The post has been updated on May 21st, 2014 Malverne Mule has been selected to administer three Regents Examination Field Tests. (They may have already started). The tests are Algebra 2/Trigonometry, Physics, and Geometry. The field test means that the test publisher is “fielding” how students answered the questions and, eventually, would adjust them for the real test. A field test has no other purpose. It goes directly to the company. It is not graded.

High Stakes Testing — Field Tests

The Field Tests In April, high stakes testing took place and selected classrooms will undergo yet another round of testing— field tests —at the beginning of June.
