I launched this blog on March 22nd, 2013. I was inspired by a website launched in spring of 2012 by an anonymous group of Malverne UFSD activists in support of two candidates running for the board of education that year. Their site is now defunct.
First, I paid attention to local matters only. My first post was “District 12 Information for 2013 Election.” In my naïveté, I thought that my perception of the school board’s disrespect to the community would be shared by more residents. Gradually, reading articles and participating in discussions about education made me write about decisions made and events organized in Washington, DC, and Albany, as they affect our community to much higher degree than we realize, or discuss.
I wrote 53 posts, including this one. It’s about a post every other week. About 1500 readers visit the blog each month. 120 visitors read posts within 24 hours from their publishing. The most popular post to date is Malverne UFSD Investment Plan for 21st Century followed by Why I Refuse.
There is so much to write about, but so little time. Thank you for reading my blog and being part of the journey. It’s been a pleasure.
