Defeated in Election, Not in Conviction
Thank You
I want to express my gratitude to the residents of the district 12 (Malverne Union Free School District) who supported my views on the election day, May 21st. Although my views were defeated that day, I am convinced that I am on the right path. I gained some experience and I’ll adjust my efforts. It’s the diversity of ideas, discussions among diverse groups, and reconsideration of original views that drives the progress. Vague phrases calling everybody “to pull together” historically mean to “follow” but one stream of ideas without questioning. They lead to stagnation and maintain a status quo.
Program
It matters how each individual will use the time till the next election. I know there are residents who are passionate about various topics. There are myriad topics on the school district agenda during the year. For example, Common Core, field tests (in 2 weeks), Sandy Hook are the most trending topics currently. People group around a common premise, they formulate the group’s objective and work on achieving it. I invite you to use this website to author topics of your interest and share them with others. If you already have your “gathering place” for such activities, send me links. I’ll mention them in the sidebar.
Personally, I’ll stay on the task I started in March. I need to figure out how to attract residents to come out and assert their interests. After speaking to residents I concluded I will need to start explaining basics of the school district structure and its function before explaining the advantage of school administrative consolidation and the importance of residents coordination, including coordination with residents of other school districts. Your help is welcome.
Message
I ask residents who share similar views to those found at the About page, to help me reformulate the ideas and reformat the page in a “Join In” form. Then, we let other residents and media know our goals.
